Help give a special pet its furr-ever home

"Blondie" is a 2-year-old female longhaired Chihuahua/ daschund mix. She's a bit on the nervous side and would do best in a quiet household. She responds well to affection and is quite the cuddle-big. She gets along with small dogs and is not terribly active. Stop in and visit Blondie or any of the other adoptable pets at the DeSoto County Animal Shelter weekdays.

"Mann" is a 2-1/2-year-old Chihuahua mix with a pretty champagne-colored coat. He has brown eyes, his nose is brown, and he has cute floppy ears. Mann needs a little work on a leash but he is very people-friendly and gets along well with small dogs. He's playful, and if you start talking to him, he will "sing" along with you.

"Tyson" is a handsome male rednosed Pit with striking golden eyes and a gorgeous rusty-red coat. He is 3 years old. He walks well on a leash and gets along well with female dogs, but male dogs? Not so much. He does not do well with cats. He needs a little training in good manners because he gets enthusiastic and wants to jump up on people, so a home without little children is probably best, but he's very playful and would love to spend time with older children playing games. If you want to see Tyson or other available pets, call the DeSoto County Animal Shelter at 863-993-4855.

"Purr" lives up to her name -- she purrs readily, and loudly. She's an unusual tortoiseshell female, 8 months old, and she loves to be scratched and petted. She is good with children and OK with other cats. She will make a great lap cat in the right home. To adopt Purr, call the DeSoto County Animal Shelter at 863-993-4855.
