Darrel Nicklow, 13, is president of the Rooters Swine Club this year and has been raising his 4-H market hog, "Alberta," in preparation for the DeSoto County Fair. Darrel, who has Deschenes Muscular Dystrophyt and had a successful heart transplant last year, just learned his hog failed to make weight bny a mere 5 pounds, so he cannot exhibit her at the fair or sell her in the livestock auction. Still, he hopes to sell the hog independently as he is raising money to attend the University of Florida.
